    James and Robert Grayham      Be it remembered that the following
    Ex.d         from                         Mortgage was recorded on 30 December
    Edward Messick                      anno domini 1842 to wit      Know all
men by these presents That Whereas Edward Messick of Sussex
County State of Deleware stands indebted unto James Graham
and Robert Graham of the city of Baltimore state of Maryland
Copartners trading in the name James & Robert Graham the sum
of three hundred and ten dollars upon this promissory note
dated the twenty second day of December 1842 and payable with
Interest Eight months after date and to secure the payment
thereof at the time limited for the payment thereof the said Edward
Messick desires to Give a Mortgage of his schooner or Vessel called the
Fidelity of Vienna  Now Know ye that the said Edward Messick for the
consideration aforesaid and also for and in consideration of the sum
of one dollar Current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid at
the time of the perfection of these presents by the said James Graham
and Robert Graham to the said Edward Mezick the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold
assigned, transfered and set over and by these presents as grant
bargain, sell, assign transfer and set over unto the said
James Graham and Robert Graham their executors administrators
and assigns all that Schooner or vessel called the Fidelity
of Vienna together with all her Masts, Yards, sails, Rigging, Auctions
cables, Boats, Tackle, Apparel and appurtenances as she is at this
time is more particularly described in a certificate of Enrolment
granted her at the Port of Vienna in the following words
                         sixteen No 16 Enrolment in Conformity to an act
      picture         of the Congress of the United States of America
          of            entitled, " An Act for enrolling and licensing
          an            Ships or Vessels to be employed in the coasting
       eagle          trade and fisheries and for regulating the same
                         William Blades of Sussex County and State
                         of Deleware having taken or subscribed the oath required
                         by the said act and having sworn that Edward Mezick
of the County and State aforesaid is a Citizen of the United States
           Seal        sole owner of the ship or vessel called the Fidelity
          of the       of Vienna whereof William Blades is at present
        Treasury    Master and as he [illegible] is a citizen of the
          of the
     United States
United States and that said ship or vessel was built in Dorchester
County State of Maryland in the year Eighteen hundred and
thirty seven as per enrolment no 8 granted at this office the 20 day
of February 1839 now surrendered the being changed
