At the request of the Legislature, the Secretary of Budget and Management appointed the Statewide 800-Megahertz Communications System Oversight Committee in June 1999. The Committee was to plan how to develop and fund a statewide 800-megahertz wireless communication system. Its preliminary report was made in June 1999, and its final report on December 30, 1999.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS PROCUREMENT
Formerly under Telecommunications, functions transferred in 1997 to the Procurement Unit under Division of Policy Analysis.

VOICE & CUSTOMER SERVICES
Renamed Technical Support Services under Telecommunications in 1997.
