The Task Force on Affiliation between Historic St. Mary's City Commission and St. Mary's College of Maryland was formed by the Governor in May 1996. The Task Force examined what sort of affiliation between the Commission and the College would be most viable or appropriate and how best to implement it. The Task Force submitted its recommendations for the governance and support of Historic St. Mary's City to the Governor on November 20, 1996.
