WORCESTER COUNTY, MARYLAND

MUNICIPALITIES

Worcester County has four municipalities: Berlin, Ocean City, Pocomoke City, and Snow Hill. Of these, Snow Hill, the county seat, was the first to form its own government in 1812. Thereafter, Pocomoke City incorporated in 1865, Berlin in 1868, and Ocean City in 1880.

Incorporated 1880 (Chapter 209, Acts of 1880)
Population (1990 census): 5,146


POCOMOKE CITY

Incorporated 1865 as New Town (Chapter 151, Acts of 1865).
Incorporated 1878 as Pocomoke City (Chapter 253, Acts of 1878)
Population (1990 census): 3,922


SNOW HILL
